Tablescape Thursday

[New_size_125_tall.jpg]

I've been wanting to share this project for a while and since Susan at Between Naps on the Porch is having her Tablescape party today, I thought it might be a good time! After seeing pics of her tablescapes, I realize that my tablescaping skills obviously need some refining! I will have to do some practicing!

My mom let me borrow her Cricut, which is a cutting machine. You can cut letters, numbers, shapes... all kinds of things!! I used it to cut the vinyl letter I put on this little wooden tote box.

Well, I also cut out some stencils and used them to etch these plates. I absolutely love them. My mom etched the tea glasses for me.

I bought these plates for $1 each at Publix. I just love the beaded trim.

The glasses were some that were in my cabinets. I just got them down and etched them.

I also had a glass pitcher that I etched with a lower case "d."

Do you have a Cricut? What projects have you done with yours? Playing with Mom's really makes me want one!!!

Go on over to Susan's and check out other people's amazing tables!!

I have a cricut machine and I adore it. You did a wonderful job with your monogram projects. I scrapbook with my machine and I've made a few crafts like clipboards, etc. I think they are on sale at Michaels right now.

WOW... you are good at cutting glass!

Thanks, ladies! Fifi..just to clarify, I didn't actually cut the glass. I used a Cricut to cut stencils and then used etching creme. It was really easy!

I have been thinking about doing something similar, but wasn't sure how it would look with etching creme. I think I will try this out sometime. ;)

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Vanessa, you are such a clever girl! I had forgot all about etching creme! Fabulous idea! Gives everyday glasses and plates such a sophistical and custom appeal.

I've never had a Cricut but I've seen the ads.

Thank you for sharing your very clever tablescape.

Vanessa, this is a great idea! And I love your Publix plates. Don't you just love Publix? I was looking for some clear glass plates the other day at Dollar Tree, so I will have to check our Publix and see if they have these.

Thanks so much for the tip!

Happy Tablescape Thursday...

XO,

Sheila... who loves how that device makes inexpensive glassware look high end! :-)

What a great idea/tool to personalize inexpensive items although those clear plates you got looked good to start! You have done a wonderful job.

I have one of the very first cricuts. I wonder if I can do that with mine? It all turned out fabulous! I'm inspired!
