A desk for my girl

We did some rearranging in the house this past week and needed a new home for this old desk. I bought it about 6 years ago at a yard sale for $15. It's solid wood and I love it because it is very small and can fit almost anywhere. It also has great storage! After I bought it, I painted it red. Loved it for my oldest son's room for a long time!

Well, my daughter decided she wanted a desk in her room, so that is where it landed. I didn't think she would have enough room for it, but we made it work.

I couldn't let it stay that red in her aqua and pink room, so I pulled out the paint I used on her dresser. It may be too much pink in the room, but I thought it would definitely be better than the red!

I put the same silver knobs back on it and I think it looks sweet sitting in her room.

She even decorated the desk. Now is it the way I would have accessorized? No, but I have to keep reminding myself that it is HER room and I need to let her be creative and have her hand in it! It doesn't have to look like a page out of a magazine!

I just love that she loves it!

I'm linking to Transformation Thursday and Furniture Feature Friday.

PS- I realized that I'm only 4 posts away from my 100th post!! I may have to do a give-a-way! But what??? I'll be thinking!

Isn't it amazing what paint and hardware can do for something!

I *wish* we had a small desk that could travel between family members.... it almost seems perfect for my little sewing machine. :)

Thanks for posting!
